Man up for impersonating cop

as police officers.

They introduced themselves to Madzamba and said they were looking for her husband whom they accused of peddling drugs in the satellite town.
After that they proceeded to search the house, but could not find the drugs.

The duo called Madzamba’s husband to come home since they were waiting for him.
Upon arrival, the pair introduced themselves as police officers resulting in an argument after Madzamba’s husband demanded to see their identity cards.

During the melee, two police officers arrived at the scene, resulting in Gasa escaping.
The officers apprehended Shangwa who later escaped while on their way to the police station.

Gasa was arrested later and convicted of impersonation on his own plea of guilty when he appeared before Chitungwiza magistrate Mr Lazarus Murendo.
Mr Murendo sentenced him to 10 months in prison but set aside three months for the next five years.

The remaining seven months were suspended on condition he performed 210 hours of community service at the court’s premises.
