A MAN from Pumula in Bulawayo allegedly raped his niece and her friend aged six and eight respectively. The man (41) allegedly raped the two children at his home where he stays with his niece. His trial is set to begin before regional magistrate Mr Chrispen Mberewere on August 10. Prosecuting Mr Simbarashe Manyiwa alleges that sometime in January, the man spotted the two girls playing in the yard and called his niece’s friend into the house.
“He then closed his bedroom door and undressed the girl before raping her once. Afterwards, he ordered the girl to dress up and leave his room. The girl informed a man who stays near her home,” said Mr Manyiwa.
“The man went on and called his niece into his bedroom. When she got into the room, he raped her once and ordered her to go back to play.”
Mr Manyiwa said the girl informed her mother who made a police report leading to the man’s arrest. -@thamamoe
