AFTER having had enough of his wife’s threats, a Mutare man approached the civil courts seeking a protection order against her. Musasa Makaya described his wife of three years, Nyarai Chibetete as violent and abusive. Mrs Yeukai Chigodora presided over the matter. Makaya told the court that despite staying together as husband and wife, Chibetete wasdisturbing his peace.

“This woman is disturbing my peace with my children Your Worship. “She even goes to the extent of insulting me before our children. “I need the court’s intervention now,” said Makaya.

“She told me that she can not take care of my two children, yet I equally treat her two children like my own. I ended up taking my children to my sister’s place. “She even threatens to kill me and I no longer feel secure Your Worship,” added Makaya.

The presiding magistrate, Mrs Chigodora granted the protection order in favour of Makaya. She told him to stand up as a father and be the leader of the family.
