‘Mane’s relationship with Bayern over’

MUNICH. —  Former Bayern Munich player, Lothar Matthäus has said Sadio Mane’s stint with the German giant will come to an end after the current season.

The Senegalese joined Bayern from Liverpool last summer in a deal worth £35 million.

Mane has struggled since joining the Bavarians due to injuries and fallouts with some of the players.

Speaking to SuperSport on the former Liverpool player’s future in Germany, Matthäus hinted that it is over between the two parties.

“The relationship between Bayern Munich and Sadio Mane is over. Maybe the relationship was a mistake, maybe one of the many mistakes Bayern have done in the last 12 months,” he said in the interview.

Sadio Mane has appeared 38 times for Bayern Munich in all competitions since joining and scored 12 goals with 5 assists.

Bayern are currently second on the Bundesliga table with 2 points separating them and leaders Borussia Dortmund. —SuperSport
