MBIRA artist and spiritualist, Diana “Mangwenya” Samkange, says it was an amazing experience working with producer Maselo on the single titled Muchembere.
The single has been endorsed as an instant hit by fans with its visuals expected soon.
In an interview with H-Metro, Mangwenya said it has always been the norm for her to deliver stuff fans appreciate.
“I have been working with this young talented producer for quite a long time.
“We worked together on stage, studio and, of course, on this track that I released recently.
“It’s an obvious case that every time we sit down together and discuss music, the result turns out to be productive.
“Seriously, the experience of working with Maselo is more than a blessing in my life,” she said.
The songbird said Muchembere is a song that reminds people about their tradition and culture.
“Muchembere is a song that reminds the nation that it is only our culture and identity that identifies who we are.
“In as much as people try to adopt other cultures, our own culture and traditions are behind our identity.
“As an artist, I advocate for my culture, through music,” she said.
Meanwhile, Mangwenya revealed she is working on an EP as well as visuals.
“The last quarter of the year I just want to work on a follow-up EP of the album that I released last year titled Gungwa Ndiyerese.
“My wish is to work on the visuals as well but the challenge is that of sponsors.
“I don’t have sponsors but I have hope that I will find one or two who will help me achieve my goals,” she added.
