KUJATA JATA SINGER TO RELEASE SINGLE

AWARD Winning sungura artist, D.T Bio Mudimba, who made waves with the song ‘‘Kujata Jata’’ last year, is set to release a new single titled ‘‘Mushe Mushe’’, on July 20.

Mudimba will be adding more choice and competition in the  genre since Madzibaba Zakaria, Alick Macheso and Mark Ngwazi also released good projects.

The Binga-based musician has, however, humbled himself and has saluted the seasoned sungura artists.

Mudimba said he was not in a competition with any artists.

“We are not in a competition and, because of that, we are not worried whether the project will get overshadowed or not, we are only worried about keeping our music fans entertained,” he said.

“They are our big brothers in the genre and we are just an upcoming band that seeks a beginning in the industry.

“We are far away from being compared to the  great artists like Alick Macheso, Nicholas Zakaria, Mark Ngwazi, to mention just a few.

“They are actually my source of inspiration. I am who I am today because of them.”

Mudimba said it would be up to the listeners to decide whether Mushe Mushe will surpass Kujata Jata.

“I may not be able to give judgment as to whether it could be better than Kujata Jata or not because as cooks we tend to have a biased judgment.

“We love all our compositions the same way. The listeners are the best judges,” he told H-Metro.

Mudimba is still to release an album.

He has two singles he released last year, namely Kujata Jata in January and Baama Ataata in September.

He is the producer of all his music, with the assistance of Afro Recordz Studios, based in Bulawayo.
