TAURAI Mangwiro’s Orapa United blew a chance to move within a point of defending champions Gaborone United in the Botswana Premier League as they fought from a goal down to share spoils with BDF XI at Itekeng Stadium on Saturday.
Orapa United, third on the table needed an injury time goal by Isaskar Bioclyn Hobasen Gurirab to draw 1-1 at home and in the process took their points tally to 35.

Unbeaten in eight games, Orapa United started the second half of the championship slowly. They are three points behind champions Gaborone United who were held to a 2-2 draw by Security Systems.
Three Zimbabwean players Tendai Nyamanjiva, Anelka Chivandire and Wilfred Muvirimi featured for Mangwiro’s team. Nyamanjiva played the entire match, with Muvirimi coming in the 60th minute for Onkemetse Mike Powe while Chivandire was replaced by Kagisano Mungu in the 67th minute.

Jwaneng Galaxy, home to two Zimbabweans, the former Highlanders duo of Daniel Msendami and Nqobizitha Masuku defeated Rahman Gumbo’s Morupule Wanderers 1-0 at Serowe Sports Complex to shoot to the top of the log. Thabang Sesinyi found the target in the 73rd minute for Jwaneng Galaxy to pick up the three points which saw them rise to 40 points, two more than Gaborone United.

Msendami started the match for the Morena Ramoreboli coached Galaxy with Masuku starting off on the bench.
At Sowa Town, former Tsholotsho FC and TelOne FC winger Mcebisi Moyo was on target when his Sua Flamingoes beat Extension Gunners 3-1. Moyo struck two minutes into the second half to double his team’s lead.
It was a perfect start to the second half of the season for Sua Flamingoes who are now in position seven with 21 points. They are now unbeaten in six outings.

Moyo didn’t finish the game as he was replaced by fellow Zimbabwean Cleopas Dube in the 65th minute.
Former Highlanders and Orlando Pirates youth striker Rodi Sibanda who is still searching for his first goal since joining Sua Flamingoes last month came in for Botshelo Mafoko in the 74th minute.
Kelvin Ndebele and Brendon Chinyani were on the losing end as Nico United slipped at home going down 2-0 to Police XI. Nico United, formerly coached by Philani “Beefy” Ncube moved two places down the table to position 11.
It was back to winning ways for former Bosso coach Mandla “Lulu” Mpofu as Masitaoka defeated Prisons XI 2-0 Lobatse Stadium yesterday. — @ZililoR
