Manica Diamonds, coach Nhumwa part ways

Sport Reporter

MANICA Diamonds have sacked head coach, Johanisi Nhumwa, and his entire technical staff, following a string of poor results.

They lost 1-0 to Bulawayo Chiefs last week and Sunday’s 1-0 loss at home to Dynamos seems to have sealed his fate.

Nhumwa guided the club for 29 games and managed 39 points from nine wins, 12 draws, and eight losses.

They immedia appointed Triangle United mentor, Jairos Tapera, as substantive head coach.

In a statement, the club said they had mutually parted ways with the technical team.

“We sincerely appreciate the services rendered by the technical team to the club and we wish them well in their future endeavors.

“Meanwhile, the club has appointed Jairos Tapera as the new substantive head coach and he will be assisted by Tafadzwa Mashiri, Patrick Mandizha, and Thembinkosi Sibanda.

“Ticharambana Zika remains the team manager.”
