IN a sad development, a long serving staff member of The Manica Post, Mr Lovemore Chineka, passed away last week on Saturday.

He was 52.

The late Mr Chineka was buried in Majiri, Masvingo, on Monday.
Mr Chineka served in the company’s Marketing Department for more than 17 years.

In an interview, the late Mr Chineka’s brother, Mr Paul Chineka said his brother died after a short illness.

He said they were robbed of a loving brother who always unified them when misunderstandings arose within the family.

“My brother was our unifier. He was a good person who loved both his immediate and extended family. He was straight forward in everything that he did. He was a hardworking person as evidenced by how he worked for The Manica Post for more than 17 years.

“My brother loved his roots as every chance he got, he would travel with his family to our rural home in Masvingo. Most of all, he loved his children and his wife and would go an extra mile to send them to school. To him, education was everything,” he said.

He thanked everyone who contributed towards his brother’s funeral.

Speaking at the funeral in Masvingo, The Manica Post Finance and Administration Officer, Mr Advance Khumalo, as well as Diamond FM’s Marketing Manager, Mr Peter Madondo said Zimpapers has lost a hardworking employee.

Mr Chineka is survived by his wife, Mrs Tendai Chineka, and sons Tatenda, Takudzwa and Tinotenda.
