The 107th edition of the Manicaland Agricultural Show roars into life tomorrow, with over 160 exhibitors expected to be showcasing their products. Manicaland Agricultural Show administrator Mr Edmond Nenguke yesterday told The Herald that more exhibitors were expected, apart from the 160 that have been confirmed so far.
“This year’s edition will have more than the confirmed 160 exhibitors, as more are still coming,” he said. “Last year, there were 160 exhibitors for the entire duration of the event, which we are sure of surpassing significantly this time around.
“Most exhibitors are still setting up their stands, but will certainly be ready for Wednesday (tomorrow)when the event kicks off.” This year’s event will be running under the theme: “Sustainable Industrial and Agricultural Innovation Through Renewable Energy” and is expected to run from tomorrow to Sunday.
Mr Nenguke said gate charges for the five-day event will be pegged at $2 and $1 for adults and kids, respectively from tomorrow to Friday, while charges for Saturday would rise to $3 and $2 for adults and kids respectively since there would be a musical show by popular chanter, Winky D on the day.
Charges will then drop to $2 and $1 for Sunday. Musicians Freeman and Killer-T will entertain the crowds on Friday and Sunday respectively, so in terms of entertainment, showgoers will be spoilt for choice. On the business front, Mr Nenguke said this year there would be new exhibitors like the Zimbabwe Consolidated Diamond Company, Willowton and many Small to Medium Enterprises.
“We have created a very conducive environment for our exhibitors,” he said.
