SENATOR Monica Mutsvangwa is set to replace ousted Women’s League national executive member, Cde Nyasha Chikwinya following her nomination by the newly elected Manicaland executive on Monday.Former Zanu-PF Manicaland deputy chairperson Cde Dorothy Mabika has bounced back and will clinch Sen Mutsvangwa’s current position in the Women’s quota.
Soon after being elected into power, the new executive led by Cde Happiness Nyakuedzwa passed a vote of no confidence on national executive members Cdes Agatha Mgomba and Jane Knight-Mabuto.
The two were secretary for business development and liaison deputy secretary for education respectively.
The executive recommended Senator Monica Mutsvangwa as Cde Chikwinya’s replacement, Cde Lucia Chitura to replace Cde Mgomba, while Cde Letina Undenge takes up Cde Mabuto’s position.
‘‘Following the suspension of Cde Nyasha Chikwinya at national executive level, as the Manicaland Chapter we feel that it is not enough, so we are passing a vote of no confidence on Cde Jane-Knight Mabuto and Cde Agatha Mgomba. We have appended our signatures against the two for pursuing a factional agenda in the leadership of the province and being at the forefront of the agenda to overthrow the President and First Secretary of the party, Cde Robert Gabriel Mugabe,” said Cde Nyakuedzwa.
The provincial elections come after a vote of no confidence on its previous chairperson, Cde Joyline Porusingazi, her deputy, Cde Loveness Mutezo and secretary for finance, Pedigree Matara last month.
In the new executive Cde Nyakuedzwa will be deputised by Cde Nokuthula Matsikinyere.
Other executive members elected were Cde Chido Sanyatwe as secretary for administration, Cde Spumusiwe Manomos-Chamisa as secretary for finance and Cde Janet Mazviwanza as commissariat secretary.
Cde Nyakuedzwa said as the Manicaland chapter they would not continue being led by the two (Cde Mabuto and Cde Mgomba) saying they were elected on factional grounds.
“Manicaland will not work with them. In the case of Cde Mugomba she was responsible for undermining the authority of President Mugabe and First Lady Amai Dr Grace Mugabe, mobilising youths and funding agenda’s against the First Lady’s Manicaland Meet the People Rally.
“She used $7 000 from the funds obtained from ZESA for vote buying to advance the factional agendas and secretly campaigning for Cde Didymus Mutasa for the Vice-President post.
“Cde Mabuto used $5 000 from the funds obtained from ZESA for vote buying to advance factional agendas. She is also involved in the $27 000 case of misappropriation of funds from the women mechanisation programmes in Chimanimani and she is also jointly accused with Cde Porusingazi of having sold 5 000 chickens belonging to the women’s league. These are the reasons for us to boot them out,” said Cde Nyakuedzwa.
