PLANS are on course to electrify high-yielding boreholes and rehabilitate waste water systems across Manicaland Province as part of Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) efforts to promote hygiene during the Covid-19 period.

District Development Fund provincial manager Mr Robert Chawatama said the electrification of boreholes and implementation of hygiene initiatives mainly in rural areas of the province speaks to President Mnangagwa’s Vision 2030 development agenda of leaving no-one or no place behind.

He added that they are constructing sanitation facilities, including handwashing centres, and also conducting covid-19 public awareness campaigns around the province.
