Government’s Constituency Empowerment Fund is set to drive development to the lowest community structures, ensuring progress is felt in every village, according to Presidential Investment Advisor, Dr Paul Tungwarara.
He made the remarks in Manicaland recently during the launch of the fund, where all 26 constituencies each received US$25 000.
In addition, Young Women for ED received US$50 000 per province, while DCC chairpersons were handed new vehicles and US$10 000 each to strengthen administrative efficiency.
Dr Tungwarara said President Mnangagwa had directed that no community be left behind as the nation forges ahead towards Vision 2030.
“This initiative aims to ensure development cascades to the lowest structures. We will not stop until every home benefits,” he said.
Young Women for ED leader Cde Tatenda Mavetera, warned against abuse of the funds, saying accountability would be strictly enforced.
Beneficiaries welcomed the support, with small-scale farmer, Mrs Melody Chikwanha, saying it would revive stalled irrigation projects, while youth carpenter, Mr Tafadzwa Chibanda, said the programme would unlock opportunities for young entrepreneurs.
Widow and volunteer, Mrs Muchaneta Mabhena, said vulnerable groups now had a chance to start income-generating projects.
Attendees also received Pfumvudza/Intwasa inputs, underscoring the Government’s pledge to ensure food security and grassroots empowerment.
