LENN-MORTON Khokhovula Gundabaloyi, a 52-year-old sangoma and spiritual adviser, has raised concerns about the alarming trend of high-profile South Africans resorting to dark rituals to gain power and success.
Speaking to Daily Sun, Gundabaloyi claimed a lot of celebrities, politicians, businesspeople, and soccer stars have engaged in rituals to maintain their influence, often with deadly consequences.
According to Gundabaloyi, these people have fallen into the trap of Ukuthwala, a practice associated with dark cults aimed at acquiring wealth or power quickly.
“Many have fallen into the trap of selling their souls and joining cults, which ultimately cost them their lives,” Gundabaloyi said.
He highlighted that some musicians and other public figures have lost their lives after joining these cults. Gundabaloyi also linked recent mass and tavern shootings to ritualistic acts.
“There was a need for the supply of blood and people needed to be killed,” he said.
He said when people join cults, they are told to do sacrifices.
“People are often instructed to sacrifice their most loved family members, and failure to comply can lead to death.”
Despite facing threats and opposition, Gundabaloyi’s determined to educate the public about the dangers of such practices.
“I’m against this, and despite getting threats, I’ll continue to speak out. It’s crucial that people understand the risks involved,” he said.
He said there were genuine people who rely on their talents to get far.
“Not everyone does it, but it’s sad as people do it out of desperation and poverty.”
He also called on other izangoma to guide people towards positive spiritual engagements with ancestors, rather than pushing them towards harmful practices.
“Let’s help people connect with their ancestors and improve their lives through genuine means,” Gundabaloyi insisited. (www.snl24.com)
