CLAUDE Mapoka says it’s a dream come true to join Ngezi Platinum Stars and he is looking forward to a good run in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League.
The striker joined Madamburo on a two-year deal after a short stint with ZIFA Eastern Region Division One champions and PSL debutants Green Fuel.
“It’s definitely a dream come true to join Ngezi Platinum. They are now one of the biggest teams in the country, so it’s a big milestone for me as a player.
“I have played in the Premiership before with Mutare City, so I have the experience and it’s nothing new,” he said.
The 25-year-old said he joined Ngezi to win trophies.
“Ngezi is a well-known team and one of the biggest and best teams in Zimbabwe, and I want to win the league and other trophies with them.
“My target this season is to break records, not only for myself, but for my team. In order to achieve that, you have to work hard in training and in the few weeks I have been at Ngezi I know with the facilities they have I can reach my full potential,” said Mapoka.
“The experience I gained in Division One has definitely made a huge impact in my career, not forgetting the experience I gained at Mutare City. Even in the corporate world, they target people with experience, so my experience with other teams counts too in football.”
