CRACK Zimbabwe marathon runner Tendai Zimuto left Harare for the Netherlands on Thursday to compete in the Enshede Marathon on Sunday.

He is no newcomer to that competition having placed third in the 2024 edition in which he clocked a time of 2 hours 09 minutes 30 seconds.

The 30-year-old is using the Netherlands event to try and qualify for the 2027 World Championships. He is one of the country’s top runners in the distance and in elite class of athletes to run the marathon under 2 hours 10 minutes along with national record holder Isaac Mpofu and Cuthbert Nyasango.

Zimbabwe Olympic Committee announced on Thursday that the athlete had left for Europe on a mission to qualify for next year’s World Athletics Championships.
