Maringwa duped

Court Reporter
Football Union of Zimbabwe president and former Dynamos Football Club player Desmond Maringwa on Monday brought his taxi driver to court for disappearing with his vehicle.
Honest Nyagura of No. 9 Colbain Flats, Baines Avenue appeared before Harare magistrate Ms Rumbidzai Mugwagwa facing charges of contravening Section 57 (1) (e) of the Road Traffic Act Chapter 13.11 which prohibits unlawful contact with or use of vehicle.

Prosecutor Ms Barbra Ndoro alleged that on January 6 at around 8am, Nyagura entered into a verbal agreement with Maringwa to drive his taxi, a Toyota Raum registration number ABZ 2585.

The parties agreed that Nyagura would cash in US$200 weekly, but the following day Maringwa told him he wanted  money to be cashed in daily until the amount totalled US$200 per week.

Nyagura took the vehicle and came back five days later with US$54 and the following day he disappeared with the vehicle, prompting Maringwa to report to the police.

Nyagura was arrested on Wednesday last week and the vehicle worth US$6 000 was recovered.
