AFRO-GOSPEL singer General Kwela has released a single called Zarurai.
The track was inspired by the time when Kwela was dumped by his wife because of his career choice.
Kwela said the lack of return from the money he invested in recording songs, before the release of Zarurai, led to his wife losing faith in him.
Kwela is set to release a full gospel album by the end of the year.
Visuals for Zarurai are expected in May.
He also hopes to work with prominent producers, such as McDee, and fellow artists such as Michael Mahendere and Larry Gunda.
“I did more than 20 tracks and submitted them to our local radios but none of them got airplay.
“This major setback led to my wife to leave me saying handina kana plan as I had invested a lot of money into my career and this gave birth to our marital problems.
“I wrote this song to inspire others that no matter how hard life gets, there’s always light at the end of the tunnel.
“In the gospel industry, you carry the message and sound for a very long time and it’s even painful to release it but regardless of this you’re just grateful for the little listenership you get,” said Kwela.
