SINGER Matthew Perego is due to launch his second album titled Dzidza Makasa at East Point (ex-Jazz 105) in Harare on May 2.
The five-track sungura and rhumba album was produced by Victor Paurosi.
“The album title is about inspiring people out there, people who feel they have been let down by life and the whole message behind this album is for my fans to be resilient in every situation because one day you will come out of it as a better person.
‘’The album also consists of songs that uplift people, who were left by their loved ones, and people they trusted.”
Two years ago, he released his first album titled Dhiri Rakanaka, which had five songs and it met some relative success.
The 26-year-old musician said the late Tongai Moyo and Leonard Dembo were the inspiration for him to venture into music.
A number of artists are expected to attend the launch and support Peregu.
“One of the challenges I faced was the lack of finance but I appreciate the role played by my fans who always stand by me and help me when I am in need of help.
“There is need for unity among musicians so that we can promote each other and to produce content that is helpful to the communities we come from.
“Some artists are now writing music that promotes bad behaviour such as drug and substance abuse.”
