DAVE Marsburg was the fastest in the bikes’ category during the Bulawayo Motoring Club public drag competition held at Victoria Falls Road Circuit on Saturday. Marsburg won the Class BB 751-1000cc in 10.70 seconds and went on to win the knockout trophy ahead of usual rivals Ian Gutherless and Fuzzy Walker.
Bianca Schultz was off to a nervous start but managed a best time of 13.97 seconds. She was the only female bike competitor on the day.
For the first time at a drag meeting the Schultz family had a good day with Tim clocking a fastest time of 12.09 seconds, son Matthew who had a bike trouble managed to finished fourth in 16.04.
Terry Aubrey was back with his Cobra replica after some time spent overhauling it. It was driven by Kirk Aubrey on a flawlessly day.
Kirk won the Class E in 12.42 seconds and also went on to win the knockout challenge ahead of Zane Shah and Jimmy Zevgolis.
In the 1600cc class newcomer Bothwell Nyoni took on Sam Nyamapfeka, but just missed third place by 0.08 seconds.
Sharon Van Vuuren was the only female driver for the day, but lost to Jimmy Zevgolis in VW Golf who won his class with a time of 15.44 seconds.
Last rounds winner Shah in his Toyota Mk2 had problems when he went up against Kirk in the knockout round.
