Maruwa demands more from his troops

TELONE coach, Hebert ‘Jompano’ Maruwa says his side needs to get accustomed to getting results against bigger sides in the league.

The WiFi boys play host to CAPS United at Ascot Stadium in a Castle Lager Premier Soccer League match tomorrow.

While Maruwa anticipates a tough afternoon against the former Cup Kings, he feels it is such matches that define great teams.

In their last match, TelOne earned a valuable point in a one all draw against Dynamos at Rufaro Stadium.

And Maruwa believes the Gweru based side once again needs to show up and get maximum points in order to keep up with the leading pack.

TelOne are in eighth position on the log standings with four points from three matches, the same as Makepekepe who are a rung below due to an inferior goal difference.

“It’s not an easy game for us, CAPS are a big team so we need to up our game and make sure we a get a positive result,” he said.

“We also need to make sure we stay near the leading pack so by collecting maximum points it will help us.”

Maruwa has assembled a very formidable side with a lot of experienced players such as Frank Makarati, Leeroy Murape, Bruno Mtigo and Tawanda Macheke.

He however, bemoaned the international break saying it came at a time when his side was getting into the right groove therefore, affecting his team’s rhythm.

“The break obviously disrupted our rhythm on the players’ part. They tend to lose focus but now it’s the time for us to re-group,” lamented Maruwa.
