MARVELOUS Nakamba’s resurgence at Luton Town has seen the Zimbabwean being named the Championship side’s Player of the Month.
It was a close call with Nakamba narrowly beating defender, Tom Lockyer, by just two votes to claim his first individual prize at the club.
Nakamba, who is on loan from English Premiership side, Aston Villa, picked up 36 percent of the overall vote after playing every minute in March.
He was credited for being at the heart of the Hatters fine run which saw them ending the month without conceding in open play.
He saw every minute of action during this period as Luton Town collected 10 points out of a possible 12.
They have now extended their unbeaten run to nine games after holding out for a goalless draw at Millwall.
The point and 18th clean sheet of the season moved the Hatters up into the third place.
They are set to welcome Blackpool today, who are second from the basement.
Luton Town coach, Rob Edwards, hailed his troops for their efforts in a hard-fought draw against play-off contenders.
“The lads showed bags of character, it’s a really difficult place to come and to come away with a clean sheet, it’s a big point because it’s a really difficult place to come when they’re going for it as well,” Edwards told reporters.
“It was a full house, the crowd were at it, I thought it was a really good day for us.
“Another clean sheet is a real positive, bags of effort, some good performances but in a different way.
“Football isn’t always beautiful, you have to play different ways and find different ways but the opposition team are always going to try and play to their strengths and try and stop you doing what we do well.”
