Zaba technical director, Petros Masiyambumbi, was impressed with the turnout and the young boxers that took part in the event.
“It was a competitive event with Mashonaland Central fielding young boxers. The turnout was good… We had bouts for females too.
“I was impressed with the age of the boxers as the majority of them were at the National Youth Games. The standard of the competition was also great,” said Masiyambumbi.
The Zaba technical director also said that they are now looking forward to next month’s national championships in Hwange and the champions of champions tournament, which will bring the curtain down on their events for this year.
“We were intending to have the national championships on October 27 but now we have postponed it to November 3. We also want to hold the champions of champions (tournament), which is our last event of the year, at the end of November or early December so we are now focusing on those two events,” Masiyambumbi said.
