MASHWEDE Holdings is becoming an all-weather friend for various sporting disciplines in the country as the company has this year invested in a number of sporting activities.

With sponsorship a challenge for many sportspersons, Mashwede Holdings is making a difference in their own way.

Last month, Mashwede Holdings sponsored the inaugural Mashwede Charity Cup golf tournament held at Falcon Golf Club.

The golf event was organised to raise funds to support vulnerable members of society.

Mashwede Holdings also came in to assist bodybuilder Regina Jonga with her participation at the WFF SA international XFE Classic in South Africa last month.

This week, Mashwede Holdings came on board to support young motocross rider Victor Nyamupfukudza, who is taking part in the 2021 Dial a Delivery Zimbabwe Summer Series at Donnybrook Park Raceway.

The annual event got underway yesterday afternoon with the Supercross event. The Series is running until tomorrow and is featuring local riders only.

The seven-year-old Nyamupfukudza received RTGS60 000 through the owner of Mashwede Holdings, Alex ”Dr Mash” Mashamhanda, to meet his expenses during the Zimbabwe Summer Series after noticing the strides the young rider is making in the sport.

“We are so thankful and we want to thank Mashwede Holdings for the sponsorship as you know motocross is very expensive, we don’t take it for granted and it will go a long way. We thank them for partnering us.

“It gave us a boost… So far he (Nyamupfukudza) won all his races today in the 50cc Class,” said Victor’s father, Simbabwe Nyamupfukudza, yesterday.

There are indications that Mashwede Holdings may come into partnership with the young rider as they believe he is talented and has a bright future in motocross.

Mashwede Holdings was also involved in football some years back, sponsoring junior football in the country.

They used to hold the M and H Under-17 football tournament, in an effort to support junior football development in the country.

The tournament was one of the main football tournaments on the schools calendar and was held in different provinces.
