Masimba Dinyero resurfaces at Harare City

MASIMBA Dinyero who parted ways with FC Platinum a fortnight ago has resurfaced at Harare City. The 1989 Soccer Star of the Year was on the Harare Municipality-sponsored team’s bench yesterday when they clashed with Highlanders at Barbourfields Stadium. His presence could not help the struggling Harare side to a good result as they went down to a Kudakwashe Mahachi stunner in the second half.

A visiting official, Shepherd Chiware confirmed that the Dutch Master was now part of their technical team.
“He is now with us. We look forward to a good and fruitful relationship. He is an experienced gaffer who will add value to our side,” said Chiware.

Dinyero had a colourful career at Black Mambas which earned him a move to Blackpool and later Dynamos.
Thereafter, he has been involved with a number of clubs on the technical side and his last was FC Platinum where he worked under his long-time friend Lloyd Mutasa.

At Harare City he is deputising Bigboy Mawiwi who has had an uncharacteristic poor start to the season with just one win in eight matches.

Dinyero is expected to help bring back the fighting spirit which earned the club a third place finish last year in a season they finished tied on points with winners Dynamos and Highlanders.
He has replaced former Dynamos player David George who quit this week after a few months as Mawiwi’s assistant.
