ZANU PF Harare provincial chairman, Cde Godwills Masimirembwa, has challenged party district structures to intensify grassroots mobilisation and translate party strategy into tangible results through unity and discipline.
Addressing a Zanu PF inter-district meeting in Highfields Zone 2, Cde Masimirembwa said there is need for effective leadership to transform Harare and make it a Zanu PF stronghold.
“The strength of Zanu PF begins at the grassroots, strong structures, disciplined leadership, and united members will deliver a stronger Harare and a stronger Zimbabwe.
“The time for complacency is over. Every leader must work at grassroots, strengthen cell structures, recruit new members, and work tirelessly to reclaim every council and parliamentary seat,” said Cde Masimirembwa.
He stressed that reclaiming political leadership in Harare would create a stronger platform for accelerated service delivery and development, urging party leaders to remain focused on serving communities with dedication and integrity.
Zanu PF Harare province is auditing its district structures to ensure the party is intact at every level.
Last month, the party held a National Cell Day which was meant to register new members and take stock of its existing members.
“We were also auditing our district executive structures because, in 2030, elections will be held,” he said.
“We are therefore working on the ground to prepare for those elections. However, what is coming out of Harare is that, after 2030, the President’s vision will already have begun to be realised.
“We wish him good health and a long life. Most importantly, we wish that he continues to lead the country whichever positions the national leadership pursues and believes in. But we in Harare are overwhelmed by the wisdom and strategic thinking of our President, and by his delivery against national objectives for the people of Zimbabwe.
“The people of Harare are saying that beyond 2030, we still need President Mnangagwa to remain very much part of the leadership of the party, ZANU-PF itself. Through the exercise of party supremacy, the party will guide the nation moving forward.”
He praised President Mnangagwa for his unwavering commitment to transforming Zimbabwe through infrastructure development and people-centred programmes, citing initiatives such as the Emergency Road Rehabilitation Programme as evidence of visionary leadership.
