Master KG set to headline Econet Victoria Falls Marathon Concert

Sunday Mail Reporter

SOUTH AFRICAN music sensation and global chart-topper Master KG will headline the Econet Victoria Falls Marathon After-Party Concert on Sunday, July 6, bringing his world-renowned energy and signature beats to one of Africa’s most iconic locations.

He is best known for his international hit “Jerusalema”, which took the world by storm during the Covid-19 pandemic period. Master KG’s performance promises to be the perfect finale to Africa’s premier athletic event.

Held annually in the scenic resort town of Victoria Falls, the Econet Victoria Falls Marathon has evolved into more than just an athletic event, but a celebration of Zimbabwean hospitality, the African community spirit and international camaraderie among friends and families.

The marathon draws thousands of local and international athletes, as well as fitness and wellness enthusiasts. It is followed by a concert, which has quickly become one of the most anticipated entertainment events in the region.

Master KG’s inclusion on the concert bill this year marks a key milestone in the event’s evolution.

“We are thrilled to be welcoming an artiste of Master KG’s calibre,” said an Econet spokesperson.

“His music transcends borders and brings people of diverse backgrounds together, which is exactly what the marathon is about — unity, celebration and a sense of community.”

Now in its 18th year, the Econet Victoria Falls Marathon has grown exponentially — both in terms of participation and its impact on the tourism and hospitality industries.

Last year alone, over 5 000 participants from more than 30 countries took part, bringing business to hotels, restaurants, transport service providers and those who sell local crafts in the resort town.

The concert, which will be held at the Baobab Primary School grounds, offers a vibrant stage for both international stars and local talent.

Previous editions have featured crowd favourites like Winky D, Jah Prayzah and Nutty O, but Master KG’s addition signals the most globally recognised act yet to grace the marathon stage.

Participants and attendees can expect
live entertainment, family-friendly activities and the warmth of Zimbabwean
hospitality.

Master KG’s music is a blend of gospel-inspired vocals, deep house and amapiano. He will be supported by various local artistes from Victoria Falls and Bulawayo.
