Masuku spotted at Supersport United trials

BANTU Rovers captain Nqobizitha Masuku sneaked out of the country last week as he continued his search for a lucrative professional contract and is undergoing a week long trial stint at South Africa’s Supersport United. The former national Under-20 captain has in the past year been globetrotting having tried his luck in Germany and Belgium where he trained with Bundesliga club Borrusia VFL Monchengladbach and Cercle Brugge of Belgium.

Chronicle Sport reported at the beginning of the month that Masuku would attend trials at Matsantsantsa ePitoli as Supersport are affectionately known.

Bantu Rovers secretary Wilbert Sibanda accompanied the spike-haired linkman to Supersport United.

In one of his postings on a popular social network site, Sibanda wished Masuku who featured for SuperSport United in a friendly match against United FC at Lucas Mkoripe Stadium on Saturday luck.

“Watching a friendly between SuperSport United vs United FC. Gud luck Nqola. — at Lucas Moripe Stadium,” wrote Sibanda.
Bantu Rovers seem to have established good relations with SuperSport United who at one time invited Chicken Inn’s Kudakwashe Mahachi during the midseason transfer window.

Tshintsha Guluva a fortnight ago managed to arrange a week-long trial for Mahachi at Mamelodi Sundowns and according to unconfirmed reports, the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League Rookie of the Year will be joining the Brazilians in January.

Should Masuku, who is comfortable in a number of positions make the grade at SuperSport United, he will be the second player after Marvellous Nakamba who is in France, to make a breakthrough direct from Division One in Bulawayo.
