Masvingo back in champs race

MASVINGO United managed to sneak back into the ZIFA Eastern Region Division One race after they edged neighbours Masvingo City 2-0 at Mucheke over the weekend.

Yuna Yuna have been a dark horse in a season dominated by Hartley Academy and Mutare City.

Masvingo United are now in second place, level on points with Hartley, while Mutare City maintained top post after a 1-1 draw away to Mutoko Traders.

Hartley were also held by lowly Ruwa Gunners.

In Northern Region Starbill and Blue Jest completed the five teams that will face the chop this year.

The two teams joined Zatex, DC Academy and Seven Flames who were relegated before this weekend.

Meanwhile, Rugare were crowned the United Methodist Church Bishop’s Cup champions at the weekend.
