This year’s show will be held from 28 to 29 September.
In an interview, Masvingo Show Society secretary Mrs Jane Marevesa said companies should make use of agricultural shows to market themselves.
“We urge companies to make use of such rare opportunities so that their wares can be known by a lot of people. We are already receiving inquiries for space bookings.
“Exhibiting at the show is always at the exhibitor’s competitive advantage and we have a good number of positive testimonies from organisations that have improved their business fortunes through showcasing their ware at shows of this magnitude,” she said.
Mrs Marevesa said the show presented a platform for companies to learn best business practices as well as improving their market share in the province.
“Companies will obviously have the chance to learn from each other best ways of doing business and also market their businesses since a lot of people will visit the show. It is against this background that we urge all companies from the province to utilise such rare opportunities,” she said.
The previous shows have seen a number of small-scale farmers and small to medium enterprises (SMEs) showcasing their wares.
“We expect this show to be better. If the inquiries we are getting are anything to by, we are going to attract new renowned organisations and that will make the exhibition one of the best. We also expect more exciting competition because a lot has changed for the better since we have many indigenous businesses in the province.”
Meanwhile, small-scale farmers from Gutu’s Ruti Irrigation Scheme have promised a better exhibition this year. The farmers said their project was now a fully-fledged business venture run professionally.
The project’s marketing coordinator, Ms Ipaishe Masvingise, said they started exhibiting last year but did not perform well since they were still new.
“Last year was our first year to exhibit at the show but we did not do well. We have received training and I can confirm that we have benefited much from the training that we have undergone because it involved marketing and how to produce the best crop quality. I promise that in the Agricultural category, we will be among the winners,” she said.
