Praise Muzorori a female table tennis player from Masvingo Teachers College will represent Zimbabwe at this year’s Southern Africa Tertiary Institutions and Colleges (Satisu) ball games in Malawi next month. The 21-year-old Muzorori who is a first year student outclassed fellow students from the Midlands State University, Mary Mount, Bulawayo Polytechnic, Mutare Teachers’ College and the National University of Science and Technology for the berth.
She proved too strong for her opponents in all sets played in Bulawayo recently to book her place in the Zimbabwe team which is set to leave for Lilongwe on 21 August.
“Presently, I have a silver and two gold medals in my medals cabin. The fact that I will be representing my country is a dream come true for me. As a sportsperson you will always reflect on your achievements in life,” said Muzorori in an interview.
She said she knew the competition would be tough in Malawi but would do her level best.
“I will be meeting great players but having won the local competition means I can also compete at that level. I promise that I will do my best and with the right attitude nothing can stop me from bringing a gold medal,” she said.
Meanwhile, Masvingo Teachers’ College principal Benson Mutambudzi praised the team which participated in Bulawayo.
“I want to commend my students’ efforts. The team put up a brilliant performance and I wish them a wonderful outing in Malawi. They have to be good ambassadors for the country,” he said.
