MATABELELAND Hockey Board (MHB) is conducting an Inter Provincial Trails for players aged between 16-18 at the Khumalo Hockey ground.
The aim of the trials which started early last week is to identify players who will be part of the Bulawayo Province Hockey team. A larger number of players who reported for duty are from Falcon College, Christian Brothers College (CBC), and Petra as well from schools from the southern region.
A number of players have been identified, they will took part in Inter Provisional games featuring teams from across the country namely Harare, Midlands, Matabeleland, Masvingo alongside Mashonaland Central District.
After these games that are currently underway at the hockey ground from them a national side will be selected.
Selected players will proceed to South Africa for international games at a later date this year, according to MHB media officer Jerry Sullivan.
A similar exercise will held in Harare for the girls as hockey boards intensify their activities of player development within the country.
