Matabeleland North agriculture show preps on course

PREPARATIONS for the 2025 Matabeleland North Provincial Agricultural Show are in full swing, with organisers promising that this year’s edition will be bigger and better.

Running under the theme “Driving Towards Sustainability,” the event is scheduled for August 6 to 9 at the traditional Number 2 Show Grounds in Hwange, and is already generating significant excitement among exhibitors and stakeholders.

The communications manager for the  confirmed that preparations are progressing well.

“Preparations for the 2025 edition of the Matabeleland North Provincial Agricultural started last year soon after the 2024 edition. This is when we developed this year’s theme,” he said.

The chosen theme, “Driving Towards Sustainability,” builds on last year’s focus and challenges every exhibitor and business to invest in a sustainable future.

The Show Society has already dispatched invitations to exhibitors, with many eager to secure permanent stands and others actively preparing their displays.

In a bid to enhance the quality and scope of the show, the organising committee has undertaken look-and-learn visits to the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF).

The society’s chairperson attended the National Association of Agricultural Show Societies AGM in Harare for the first time in years.

The provincial show intends to incorporate new trends and align with national standards.

The Number 2 Show Grounds are expected to become a hive of activity as the event approaches, with exhibitors preparing their stands and the community gearing up for what promises to be a showcase of innovation, sustainability, and economic opportunity.

Judging of exhibits is set for Friday, with the official opening scheduled for Saturday.
