ONE of the leading diversified commercial banks in the country, ZB Financial Holdings has widened its scope of partnership with the National Association of Secondary Heads (Nash) by introducing a quiz competition for heads of schools.

A quiz competition was held at the recent Nash 2024 conference in Victoria Falls where Matabeleland South emerged as the champion.

Bulawayo finished second while Matabeleland North was third as the region dominated the quiz competition.

It was meant to capacitate school heads with financial literacy while also acting as a continuous learning platform and fostering friendship and collaboration among schools.

Each province selected a quiz team that competed against the other nine provinces.

ZB Financial Holdings executive head brand, Ms Emillia Mabika was the quiz master assisted by the bank’s Victoria Falls Service Centre manager, Ms Vivian Kulube and Mr Mtandazo Dube, the Gweru Service Centre manager.

In a speech read on his behalf by an official from his office, Primary and Secondary Education Minister, Torerayi Moyo commended the bank for its creativity.

He said the inaugural quiz dovetails with the country’s quest to shape its future through education.

“The ZB Nash Quiz Night is a perfect example of what we are striving for. It challenged our school leaders to think critically about real-world issues and I am confident they will take this knowledge back to their schools and ignite a passion for learning in their students,” said Minister Moyo who was guest of honour.

He said President Mnangagwa is a champion of the new education approach as he envisions a future where the local environment shapes learning, teaching, fostering innovation and technological advancement.

The minister said the initiative aligns perfectly well with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 3 and the exciting concept of Heritage-Based Education 5.0.

“ZB Financial Holdings didn’t just bring the fun, they also brought the learning. This night quiz was not just about trivia, it was about equipping our school heads with valuable financial knowledge,” he said.

“Initiatives like these are exactly what we need in our ministry and we wholeheartedly support ZB Financial Holdings.

Remember, education is key to our nation’s success and that’s why our ministry is focused on two main goals-quality education and making sure everyone has access to it.”

ZB was one of the premium sponsors for the Nash event and has traditionally donated to Nash.—@ncubeleon
