VERSATILE crooner, Mwenje Mathole, says his mission is to serve as an artistic voice of uprightness, healing, illumination, reason, hope and transformation.
Mathole said his song “Baba na Amai” is an open letter to his parents to honour them.
He said it is one of the most special songs as he wrote it to praise his father and mother.
He said it was about everything he went through as a child and how his parents always had a solution for the challenges he faced.
“I wrote this song for my parents, I wanted to appreciate them for what they did for me as a child.
“My parents are still alive but I pray that this song finds its place in the world and this song helps people who have lost not only a father, or a mother.
“You can marry another wife but you can never find another parent,” he said.
Mathole said his music, art and message seek to stir critical thinking and social reformation and transformation towards Ubuntu.
To date, he has performed locally and in Zambia, South Africa, Ethiopia and China.
Mwenje is partly a product of Dreamstar and Starbrite Zimbabwe.
He is currently working on an album, which dwells on community, national and global developments.
