MATOBO District in Matabeleland South province will hold its second business expo tomorrow where farmers and small to medium enterprises will showcase their products.

The exhibition will be held at Maphisa Business Centre under the theme: “SMEs for Development/Vukuzenzele”.

The Minister of Small to Medium Entrepreneurs and Co-operative Development, Sithembiso Nyoni, will be the guest of honour.

Matobo Chamber of Small to Medium Entrepreneurs’ Information and Publicity Officer, Ms Pamela Jetie, said the main objective of the expo is to share ideas, show case and identify various business products offered by members of the community.

“The main objective of the expo is to ensure that all aspiring small businesses are networked for the purposes of marketing their products. Besides, it will also put Matobo business community on the map by contributing to the national economic growth in support of the government blue print document, Zim-Asset,” she said.

The concept of a business expo is to create a platform of connection and development of small business networks with like-minded professionals.
It provides a wide-range of cutting-edge business seminars.

“I would like to take this opportunity to invite exhibitors to come and pay for the space, which is affordable to many. The main event will be at Maphisa beer garden and the open soccer ground. Now that we want a bigger and better expo, our intended guest of honour is a high profile figure. We are targeting more than 75 exhibitors,” she said.

Ms Jetie also encouraged business people to come in their numbers to exhibit their products and livestock.

Winners from the expo will qualify to participate at a bigger shows like the provincial Matabeleland South Agriculture Show at Gwanda Show Grounds.
