Commander Zimbabwe Defence Forces, General Emmanuel Matatu (right) confers the rank of Major-General on retirement to the then Brigadier-General Tom Jefter Munongwa at a ceremony in Harare on Tuesday.
IN yesterday’s edition of The Herald, we published an article under the headline, “Munongwa elevated to Brigadier-General”.
In the article, we erroneously reported that the Commander Zimbabwe Defence Forces, General Emmanuel Matatu, presided over the promotion of Major-General Tom Jefter Munongwa to the rank of Brigadier-General upon his retirement.
In fact, General Matatu conferred the rank of Major-General on Brigadier-General Munongwa upon retirement.
