MAX MAGABA STARS AT POETRY RED CARPET AWARDS

MAX Magaba topped the Poetry Red Carpet Awards after emerging with two gongs.

He won the Page Poetry Artist of the Year and Page Poem of the Year.

Magaba said poetry has always been his passion, and to be recognised among a pool of talented artists motivates him to do more.

“My hope is that these awards inspire others to explore the beauty of poetry and express themselves through this incredible form of art.

“I’m glad to be part of a community that recognises diversity across the country and that poetry transcends boundaries, ignites conversations and celebrates enduring beauty,” said Magaba.

The other winners were Hey Hey Preacher for English Spoken Word, Sonkomose for Ndebele Spoken Word, Guramatunhu for Poet of the Year, Albert Nyathi for Legendary Poet, Obert Dube for Archiver of the Year and Melusi Styn for Poetry Mentor.

The third edition of Poetry Red Carpet Awards celebrated the very best in poetic talent, providing a platform for artists to showcase Zimbabwe’s rich poetic tradition and its diverse community of poets.
