Floyd Mayweather is yet to announce who he will fight on September 12, in what could be his last professional bout before retiring, but he has stepped up his preparation by returning to the gym.
The 38-year-old has previously stated that his upcoming fight at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas will most likely be his last.
Ahead of the eagerly-awaited fight, Mayweather has ramped up his training regime by taking part in a series of gruelling workouts.
Mayweather posted a number of snaps on his official Shots account after being put through his paces by his team.
No official announcement regarding who he will face has yet to be made but one potential opponent has revealed he is happy to face the undefeated boxer.
Andre Berto, as reported by boxingscene.com, said in a statement: “I’m happy to be in the running for this fight and am definitely up for the challenge. I know it’ll be a great fight if it happens.”
Berto joins a long list of fighters who have thrown their hat in the ring to face Mayweather, whose record stands at 48-0-0, 26 knockouts.
Amir Khan, Canelo Alvarez, Timothy Bradley, Keith Thurman and Kell Brook are among the other names to step in the ring with the 38-year-old.
Berto, who is also managed by Mayweather’s manager Al Haymon, however, remains the favourite and will look to improve his record of 30-3 should he face the boxing legend. — SportsMail
