Adam, who was 42, died on the way to hospital while his brother Peter escaped with multiple injuries after the BMW X5 they were traveling in burst a tyre and veered off the road.
Mbada Diamonds, in a statement released by the company’s Corporate Services Executive, George Manyaya, said Adam’s untimely death had robbed Zimbabwe of a true football legend.
“Mbada Diamonds mourns the loss of Adam ‘Adamski’ Ndlovu, one of Zimbabwe’s most prolific strikers and a capable coach, who was yet to reach the prime of his coaching career,” Manyaya said.
“He turned Chicken Inn into a force to be reckoned with as the team’s exploits added flair, passion and a competitive edge to the Mbada Diamonds Cup 2012.
“He would be truly missed and Zimbabwe football is left poorer after his passing.”
Zimbabwe Women Soccer boss, Mavis Gumbo, said Adam’s death was a huge blow to the entire football family.
“We join the rest of the country in mourning a hero of our football and feel really sad that Adam Ndlovu died so young and in such tragic circumstances,” said Gumbo.
“He was one of the best football players we ever had and distinguished himself as a servant for his country with the Dream Team and when he played at the 2004 African Cup of Nations finals.
“He set a very good example for all the young players who dream of becoming professional football stars one day and he was beginning to establish himself as a very good coach, given what he achieved with his club Chicken Inn this season.
“It’s tough to take because Adam was a very popular figure and we all believed he would play a very big role in the development of our football in the future but there is nothing we can do now but join his family in mourning a true hero of our football.”
Gumbo also said their prayers were with Peter Ndlovu, who escaped with multiple injuries.
“We are praying and hoping for the best and everyone in the Zimbabwe Women’s Soccer League wishes Peter Ndlovu, the assistant coach of the Warriors and a great Warrior during his time as a player, a speedy recovery,” said Gumbo.
The Soccer Coaches Union of Zimbabwe said Adam’s death had left their fraternity a shattered lot.
“The President of the Soccer Coaches Union of Zimbabwe, Moses Chunga, and the Harare Chapter is deeply saddened by the news that we have been robbed of one of our young and promising coaches and member, Adam Ndlovu, in a car accident that also left his brother Peter injured,” SCUZ vice-president, Nesbert “Yabo” Saruchera and organising secretary, Jackson Munyaka, said in a statement.
“We would like to convey our deepest sympathy to the Ndlovu family and may they take solace and comfort in knowing that we are with them during this difficult time.
“We are, however, grateful that we have been offered assistance by Mr Farai Jere, Mr Kenny Mubaiwa, Mr Raymond Kazembe, Dr Nkululeko Sibanda and Nyaradzo Funeral Services to our members travel to the burial ceremony.
“We would like to call on all our members to come in numbers and give a befitting farewell to our 2012 Coach of the Year finalist.
