A MBARE duo appeared in court on Wednesday after being implicated in a robbery case in Waterfalls.
Brian Njitimana and Vincent Chikotana were not asked to plead when they appeared before magistrate Feresi Chakanyuka, who remanded them in custody.
Allegations are that on December 8, the duo and their accomplices still at large, connived to rob one Peter Chitanda.
They allegedly armed themselves with a pistol and went to Chitanda’s house in Waterfalls.
They scaled the precast wall and forced entry into the house through a dining room window.
Two went to Chitanda’s bedroom where they forced open the door.
They woke up Chitanda and manhandled him. They threatened to kill him if didn’t give them money.
Chitanda gave them US$1 100 that was in the wardrobe.
They ransacked the house and found his wallet under the bed and took US$1 071 from it.
They also took his cellphone and other particulars.
Two other gang members manhandled Chitanda’s son and robbed him of his iPad and US$1200.
Njitimana and Chikotana were arrested after the cellphones they stole were tracked to them.
Shepherd Makonde prosecuted.
