She said MBCA Bank was advised that Matthew Rusike was undertaking various projects, which were failing not thriving because of water challenges.
“Our donation amounts to US$6 157 which went towards the purchase of two 10 000-litre water tanks, the steel stands fabrication, floor paving as well as the piping. It is therefore against this background that we decided to assist in this fashion,” she added.
Dr Jinya said banks were a corporate citizens in the nation and it was their responsibility to fund sustainable projects in the society to promote self-sustenance.
“As a corporate citizen, MBCA Bank is always looking for opportunities to make a difference in the community.” She added that their mission was to build Zimbabwe’s most admired bank by staff, clients, shareholders, regulators and communities.
“We seek to achieve this by sponsoring sustainable and noble causes such as this one,” she said.
Matthew Rusike national director Reverend Margaret Mawire applauded the bank and called other stakeholders to emulate the good work.
“Matthew Rusike is the responsibility of every stakeholder in this country. Therefore, all should emulate what MBCA Bank did today in answering to the call from the society,” Rev Mawire said.
MBCA Bank has also been involved in projects which are benefiting students in schools around Zimbabwe. The bank partnered with Junior Achievement in 2011 to provide entrepreneurial and work readiness skills to high school students.
This year they doubled their sponsorship and resultantly 10 schools have benefited.
The bank also sponsored the Mutare Teen Expo, which was aimed at empowering and mentoring high school students in Manicaland province.
