MBEU AT THIRTY

AFRO fusion musician, Ashton “Mbeu” Nyahora, says he can’t wait to celebrate his 30th birthday tomorrow.

Speaking to H-Metro, Mbeu said he has more to offer both musically and in life.

 “I feel grateful to be where I am today,” said the Mhodzi Tribe leader .

“I know the sky’s the limit but I feel great to be where I am because I have had the opportunity to work with great artists from different parts of Africa.

“I will keep on working hard, pushing my career as much as I can.

“I feel I have a lot to offer to my fans and everyone around me.”

Mbeu, who passed through the late Oliver “Tuku” Mtukudzi’s tutelage, said:

“I will be turning 30 on the 30th of September and what a coincidence.

“I will be saying goodbye to my twenties and it’s a good feeling to add another year in my life,” he told H-Metro.

Asked how he plans to spend his special day, he said:

 “I plan on spending my birthday at home with my family.

“I want to just be with them, chilling and watching movies.

“Later on, I will go to a gig because on the 30th of September, we will be having a gig at Bar Rouge at Longchen Plaza,” he said.

Fellow artists – Peter Moyo, Terry Afrika, Terry Mbofana, Agga Nyabinde and Fidel Country Bwoy – are also part of the bill. 

With four albums to his name, Mbeu is stopping at nothing when it comes to making more music.

“I have got four albums to my name and more than 150 singles as I have been recording since 2008.

 “I have new projects that I am working on that are coming out very soon.

“I have a single that is yet to come out and I am thinking of releasing it the day after my birthday,” he said.

“I am yet to discuss with my manager as to when exactly we should release the song but it is already done together with the visuals and it is titled Kana Uchida and is ready for release,” added Mbeu.

Asked what his plans are going forward, Mbeu said:

“The plan for the last quarter of the year is to keep on releasing music.

“The last project that I did was an album I released called Manera so now I am focusing more on singles.

“Of course, I am also working on an album but I am not yet sure as to when the album is to be released, probably next year, because this year we are just releasing singles.”
