MBEU, GUITARIST REACH SETTLEMENT OVER PHONE. . . Case resolved at police station

Latwell Nyangu

MUSICIAN Ashton ‘Mbeu’ Nyahora and his guitarist, Liberty Magaya, have made peace following their fallout over a cellphone which the singer had snatched.

Magaya reported Mbeu for theft at Borrowdale Police Station after an altercation over payments last Friday.

He later opted for an out-of-court settlement yesterday morning at the same police station.

A source told H-Metro that Mbeu had agreed to return Magaya’s cellphone.

“The issue ended at the station after he (Mbeu) agreed to return the phone to Magaya.

“They also agreed on other terms to deal with the matter amicably than going to court,” said the source.

The matter had been reported under case number RRB 5510395.

Allegations were that Magaya demanded some payments from Mbeu, who was angered by the request.

At the height of the dispute, Mbeu allegedly snatched Magaya’s phone in a bid to force him to surrender uniforms and other stuff belonging to the band.
