Zimbabwean actress and media personality Mbo Mahocs continues to make strides in South African television after securing a role in The Last Stitch, a spin-off of the popular eTV telenovela House of Zwide.
The Bulawayo-born actress portrays Dolly, a character expected to play a significant role in helping tie together key storylines as House of Zwide approaches its conclusion.
Mbo Mahocs first rose to prominence as a television presenter before successfully transitioning into acting. She later became a fan favourite on Scandal! through her portrayal of the fiery Nigerian character Chi-Chi, earning widespread praise for her convincing accent and memorable performance.
House of Zwide, the award-winning fashion drama is set to air its final episode on June 26, 2026, bringing an end to a successful five-season run.
Producers Bomb Productions and eTV opted to conclude the series while it remained at its creative peak, choosing to bring its major story arcs to a natural and satisfying close rather than extending the storyline unnecessarily.
The finale will resolve the long-running conflict involving the Zwide family and their rivals.
In a dramatic climax, a deadly confrontation results in the death of Msizi, played by Mduduzi Mabaso. Meanwhile, Faith, portrayed by veteran actress Winnie Ntshaba, finds herself blamed for the tragedy and ultimately rejected by Ona (played by Nefisa Mkhabela). As the curtain falls on the series, Ona is presented with a career opportunity in Paris and prepares to leave South Africa, symbolising a fresh start and allowing several characters to embark on new journeys.
While producers have described the ending as a fitting conclusion to the story, reactions from viewers have been mixed. Some fans have welcomed the decision, while others expressed disappointment, particularly following the departure of several major characters in recent seasons.
