DeMbare pipped Bosso for the biggest prize, on the domestic football scene, by virtue of a superior goal difference after a photo-finish in the championship race.
The Glamour Boys then lifted the Mbada Diamonds Cup, after beating Monomotapa 2-0 in the final, to complete a back-to-back League and Cup double success story.
Nyatanga, who is a CAPS United fan, said DeMbare’s performance in the just-ended season had the touch of champions and the Harare giants deserve their place in the sunshine.
“The ZNSSA would like to congratulate Dynamos, DeMbare, Chazuzunguza, for winning the League and Cup double again this year and join the nation in saluting all the heroes who made it possible,” said Nyatanga.
“Special mention should go to their leaders, especially Kenny Mubaiwa, the chairman, and this youthful secretary-general, Ray Kazembe, for showing great leadership qualities throughout the season.
“We have never had a Dynamos leadership, especially when it comes to the chairman and the secretary-general, who have displayed the kind of unity that we have seen from these two gentlemen.
“They have also focused on doing what is best for their club and the way they fought for their rights, in the Hwange case, caught the eye even though as ZNSSA we made it clear that we didn’t condone any kind of violence, including an attack on coaches.
“We believe they have received their due rewards for what they put into working for this team and they seem to have struck a good understanding with their main sponsors, BancABC, whose funds were crucial in keeping the club’s machine oiled.
“Hopefully, we will see more from this dynamic team of administrators because they have so much to offer to this club and it’s the first time, since the time of Morrison Sifelani, that we have had a Dynamos chairman who guides the team to two straight league titles.”
Nyatanga said the DeMbare players, and their coach Callisto Pasuwa, also deserve special mention.
“After what happened to them in Tunisia when they were hammered 0-6, it’s a miracle that they managed to find a way back and you have to give them their credit for turning their season around,” said Nyatanga.
“Callisto was the key and if they had fired him, we aren’t sure they would have been successful.
“They kept him and he started to rebuild his boys’ confidence again and when you consider they also lost Washie (Arubi) and Takesure Chinyama to South Africa, then you can see that they did very well to win both the league and Mbada.”
Nyatanga said Highlanders deserve special mention for the way they battled for the championship.
Bosso eventually came short, falling on goal difference, after matching DeMbare on their points tally.
“It was good to see Bosso coming back to life and it brings a new feeling to our football, just seeing Barbourfields full to capacity, it makes everything look good and we feel Highlanders did something special this year,” said Nyatanga.
“They might not have won the league title but they fought like true Warriors and there is nothing that can stop them from winning this title, if they remain focused, next season.
“We pray for CAPS United to compete very well next season because Harare and the league need a competitive KepeKepe.”
