RAPPER and entrepreneur, Chitarisiro “MC Chita” Chiketa, has dropped a single titled Impilo, which urges young people to believe in perseverance.
The singer, who went to Jamaica in 2012, said he got the experience from singers like Munga Honarable, Teflon and Gyption.
Back home, he also worked with Roki on another single track named Dandaro.
“I have released a song named Impilo featuring Msiz’kay off my upcoming albums Zimbiyana Jones and The Temple of Boom.
“It’s a song about perseverance and overcoming all adversity despite what life throws at you or what people say about you.
“The track is one of the first hip hop songs to have three different languages namely English, Shona and Ndebele.
“It’s an awesome collaboration and helps bridge the gap between Harare and Bulawayo hip hop scenes.”
The 40-year-old has been in the industry since 2011 and is a product of 3rd World Entertainment.
“I have been in this industry for a while actually. My first taste of success was when I collaborated on an album with Junior Brown in 2011.
“But my first real hit was in 2012 when I released Dandaro with Roki and from there, I moved to Jamaica for a few years then came back in 2014.
“I then took a couple years off before I returned in 2016 with a new album Chitarisiro which spawned a couple more hits like No Dhiri and Hustle On.
“Afterwards, I started working on a new project, but then Covid-19 hit,” he said.
MC Chita shared his experience while in Jamaica.
“It was definitely a good experience. I learnt a lot there both musically and in general.
“One thing about us former British colonies is that we seem to have all been built in the same way.
“Like there are parts of Jamaica, especially in Kingston, which can easily be mistaken for Harare, but the differences are also very extreme.
“In Kingston, every day is a party. Those people go out from Monday to Monday.”
