NOW that Zimbabwe is open for business, it is close to being a taboo to come across a young person doing nothing productive.
Almost everyone is doing something whilst, unfortunately, others genuinely do not have the capital to start small businesses.
“Ukungwavangwava” is the talk of the day for most of the young people in the country, which means hustling at all costs.
Stewart Moyo (31) commonly known as Mdikoni – The Faithful Steward in the entertainment circles, is a relevant example of one of the young people that are hustling at all costs.
Apart from being an MC, comedian, an events planner, he is also the founder of Valley Dew Juice.
Like other micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), he was one of this year’s Zimbabwe International Trade Fair exhibitors.
In an interview with Sunday News, Moyo said: “My dream has always been to become one of the most successful business entrepreneurs in the City of Kings and Queens.
My aim is also to give back to the community and create jobs for young people because I have a passion for them.”
Moyo narrated that when he was in church some time back, a man of God by the name Morgan Mpofu came straight up to him during a church service and told him he saw a great businessman and a leader in him.
“There was a time I got frustrated and told my friends I am quitting my juice-making business because it was not working for me.
My projection on paper and physically, they were not the same as the struggle on the ground was double what I had projected on paper.
“I then registered a food brand called The Deer Valley Brands, which includes mixed veggies, food packaging, and beverages. In 2019 I started making those dilute to drink juices and I first named it Valley Juice in that particular week but later changed it to Valley Dew.
I am really happy that today, with confidence I can also exhibit my products in big spaces like the ZITF.”
