UP-AND-COMING master of ceremonies, Fortunes “MC Fortue” Chihota, has a dream — she wants her voice and charisma to win the hearts of many around the world.
The 34-year-old started her journey two years ago when the person who had been booked to be the master of ceremony arrived late at a church function.
MC Fortue, who is also a Shona teacher, grabbed the opportunity and the rest is history.
She now wants to create a profile that will see her gracing international events.
“It all started with a little situation at a church function, when the MC was late and there was a need for someone to keep people entertained and maintain order as they queued for food, and I volunteered to do the job.
“Being a teacher and an MC was something that I never imagined growing up.
“But that changed in a blink of an eye, I have managed to balance the two and also ask advice from my students.
“During their spare time they teach me how to dance to trending songs.
“For the past two years I have learnt how to interact with people and excite them also. I know that I am different from the others.”
