McDonald tipped for Zim Open

McDonald is currently sitting on position 63 after the last Sunshine Tour tournament.
Heading to the Zimbabwe Open, the 32-year-old golfer, who missed his first ever USPGA tour win last week, will be highly motivated.
McDonald, who has played several high profile tournaments, is doing well and has already confirmed his participation in this year’s event.

He is ranked the second-best golfer in the country after Brendon de Jonge who he partnered in last year’s Golf World Cup in China.
The pair had an 18 over par overall score after the combined four rounds and finished on 11th place.
Now sitting on US$35 520 earnings after his performances in the Sunshine Tour, McDonald is likely to arrive for the Zimbabwe Open oozing with confidence.

Last year, McDonald was the best local player in the tournament where he was tied with Ignatius Mketekete on position 23 after three good first rounds only to falter in the last round.

Coming up as the runner-up at the E-Golf Tour’s Pine Needles Classics in the United States last month, McDonald proved that he is a force to reckon with in the international scene.

Ryan Cairns, who had some good outings in the Sunshine Tour, is also another player to watch out for in the Zimbabwe Open.
The South Africa-based golfer will be motivated by the second place finish at the Mashwede Open last weekend.
Cairns won the Big Easy tournament in the Sunshine Tour two weeks ago and will want to take another victory from home soil.
